Pakistan issues statement on clashes at Afghan border
Islamabad, October 12 (Hibya) – Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement regarding the attacks that took place along the Afghan border on the night of October 11–12, 2025.
In the statement, the government said that the Afghan Taliban, Fitna-e-Hindustan, and Fitna-e-Khawarij groups carried out “unprovoked attacks.”
The statement noted that these attacks were “contrary to the spirit of peaceful neighborly relations and cooperation between Pakistan and Afghanistan.”
It added that Pakistan exercised its right to self-defense and inflicted “heavy losses” on elements linked to Taliban forces, who were allegedly involved in planning and facilitating terrorist attacks against Pakistan.
Officials stated that maximum care was taken to prevent civilian casualties during the operation.
The statement further emphasized that Pakistan values dialogue and diplomatic relations with Afghanistan, adding: “All necessary measures will be taken to safeguard our territorial integrity and the security of our people. Any further provocations will be met with a firm response.”
