Macron: The war in Ukraine must end, Russia will pay for its attacks
Paris, October 12 (Hibya) – French President Emmanuel Macron stated after his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the war in Ukraine must come to an end.
In a post on social media, Macron said that the agreement reached in Gaza offers hope for peace in the Middle East, adding: “As a glimmer of hope for peace emerges in the Middle East, the war in Ukraine must also end.”
Macron emphasized that if Russia continues to refuse to sit at the negotiation table and persists in waging war, it will face the consequences: “France condemns Russia’s attacks on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure and its targeting of civilians. These pre-winter attacks deliberately target the civilian population.”
He added that France, together with its partners, is working on providing the necessary assistance to restore and secure essential services in Ukraine.
