Stubble fires around the national park in Enez
Enez, October 2 (Hibya) – In the district of Enez, Edirne, the practice of stubble burning around Gala Lake National Park and along bird migration routes has drawn the attention of local residents.
In Edirne’s Enez district, stubble burning practices in the agricultural fields surrounding Gala Lake National Park have sparked public criticism.
Citizens traveling from Ipsala toward Enez encountered dense clouds of smoke along a stretch of about 20–30 kilometers. Upon reaching the town center, the fog and layer of smoke reducing visibility drew attention. A decrease in visibility was also observed within the town center itself.
It was reported that in addition to causing air pollution, stubble fires pose a risk of uncontrolled spread, threatening nearby forests and the national park areas.
