UNRWA: Displaced Families in Gaza Struggling in Shelters
New York, September 1 (Hibya) - The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced that thousands of displaced families are still sheltering in its schools in Gaza and lack access to basic needs.
In a statement, UNRWA said its staff continue working around the clock in the region on humanitarian efforts, noting: "Displaced families in Gaza are in need of everything. UNRWA teams are working tirelessly to help them."
The agency called for the lifting of the blockade and for permission to deliver essential humanitarian supplies into Gaza, where the humanitarian crisis is deepening.
UNRWA reiterated its call on the international community to take urgent action to protect civilians in Gaza and to ensure the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid.
