Trump: If tariffs are removed, the US will become a Third World country
Washington, September 1 (Hibya) - US President Donald Trump said that if the tariffs imposed this year are removed, the United States will largely become a Third World country.
In a post on the social media platform Truth Social, Trump wrote: “More than 15 trillion dollars will be invested in the US, this is a record.
A significant part of this investment comes from tariffs. If the radical left court allows these tariffs to be removed, almost all of this investment, if not all, will be canceled!
In many ways we will become a Third World country.”
After returning to the White House, Trump began tightening trade policy. The culmination was the April 2 announcement of a 10% basic import rate and increased reciprocal tariffs for countries, and the US began negotiations with many partners.
