Rutte: Norway contributes to collective security by increasing defense spending
Brussels, May 22 (Hibya) – NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that he welcomes Norway's move, one of the alliance’s founding members, to increase its defense spending.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte expressed his satisfaction with Norway’s step to increase its defense budget. “As a founding member of NATO, Norway contributes significantly to our collective security,” he said, emphasizing that the rapid budget increase strengthens the alliance’s collective defense capacity.
Rutte added, “We must work together to ensure that our armed forces have the resources they need to protect one billion of our citizens.”
