Minister Katz stated: “Due to Yair Golan’s irresponsible and baseless accusations against IDF soldiers, including spreading a ‘blood libel’, I have decided he will no longer be called for reserve duty, and he is banned from wearing the IDF uniform or entering military bases.”

Katz added that Golan’s remarks may pave the way for international legal actions and arrests against Israeli soldiers: “As Defense Minister, I cannot ignore statements that endanger the safety of our soldiers.”

He concluded: “There is no place in public life for people like Golan. I expect all political representatives, from right and left, to condemn such behavior.”
