Macron: The theft at the Louvre is an attack on our history
Paris, October 19 (Hibya) – French President Emmanuel Macron stated that the theft that occurred at the Louvre Museum is not merely an art theft, but an attack on France’s history and cultural heritage.
President Macron emphasized that the incident at the Louvre is not just a crime against art, but an assault on France’s history and cultural identity.
He noted that the stolen works will be recovered and the perpetrators brought to justice, adding that the investigation, led by the Paris Prosecutor’s Office, is ongoing in a comprehensive manner.
Macron recalled that the “Louvre Nouvelle Renaissance” project, launched in January with advanced security measures, has greatly contributed to protecting the museum, stating: “In this way, we ensure the preservation of the elements that make up our national memory and culture.”
