Trump Appoints TV Producer as Special Envoy to the United Kingdom
Washington, December 22 (Hibya) - Donald Trump has appointed British television producer Mark Burnett, producer of Trump's show "The Apprentice," as the United States' special envoy to the United Kingdom.
In a Truth Social announcement on Saturday, Trump praised the 64-year-old Burnett, stating: "Mark, with a distinguished career in television production and business, brings a unique blend of diplomatic acumen and international recognition to this important role."
Trump referenced several programs created and produced by Burnett, including "Survivor," "Shark Tank," "The Voice," and most notably, "The Apprentice," which aired from 2004 to 2017 with Trump as the host.
Burnett, the former president of MGM Worldwide Television Group, has won 13 Emmy Awards.
