Kristrun Frostadottir Becomes Iceland and World's Youngest Prime Minister
Reykjavik, December 22 (Hibya) - Kristrun Frostadottir, leader of the Social Democratic Party, became Iceland's new prime minister following the November 30 elections.
At 36 years old, Kristrun Frostadottir became Iceland's youngest and the world's youngest serving prime minister.
The new coalition government, led by the Social Democratic Party, the Restoration Party, and the People's Party, officially assumed office yesterday with a government council meeting.
The government presented its program at a press conference yesterday. The prime minister stated that the brevity of the program reflects the trust within the government.
In the new government, the Social Democratic Party will hold four ministerial positions and the presidency of parliament, the Restoration Party will have four ministers, and the People's Party will have three ministers.
