Iran offers condolences for Iranian Embassy staff in Damascus
Tehran, December 21 (Hibya) - Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei, expressed condolences over the martyrdom of Seyyed Davood Bitaraf, a local staff member of the Iranian Embassy in Damascus, Syria's capital.
Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Baghaei stated that Seyyed Davood Bitaraf was martyred on Sunday, December 15, in Damascus by terrorists who opened fire on his vehicle.
Baghaei extended condolences to Bitaraf's family and the Iranian people while strongly condemning the criminal act.
He added that Bitaraf's body was found, identified, and returned to Iran in the coming days.
Baghaei emphasized the responsibility of the Syrian transitional government to identify, prosecute, and punish the perpetrators of this crime.
