Carney: We’re launching with new Automatic Federal Benefits
Ottawa, October 15 (Hibya) – Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced that the government will pre-fill tax returns for up to 5.5 million Canadians, ensuring that money which would otherwise go unclaimed is returned to citizens.
Prime Minister Carney stated that millions of low-income Canadians each year fail to access the benefits to which they are entitled.
He added, “With the new Automatic Federal Benefits, Canada’s new government will pre-fill tax returns for up to 5.5 million Canadians, so that money which would otherwise go unclaimed is returned to the people.”
