Zelensky: Putin's Easter statements had no effect in these regions
Kyiv, April 20 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that attacks continue despite Russian President Vladimir Putin's declaration of a ceasefire for the Easter holiday.
President Zelensky stated that Putin’s Easter statements did not reflect in the Kursk and Belgorod regions.
He noted that the sound of Russian artillery is still heard in parts of the frontline, despite the Russian leader’s promise of silence: “Russian drones continue to be used. Our actions are symmetrical and will remain so. The proposal for a full and unconditional 30-day ceasefire is still on the table, and the answer must come from Moscow. Ukraine, along with our partners, is ready to move toward peace in the most constructive way possible, but the same preparedness is expected from Russia.”
Zelensky emphasized that the true cause of this war is now clear: “The moment Putin ordered a reduction in the intensity and brutality of attacks, clashes and deaths decreased. Russia is the sole reason for this war and its continuation.”
