Sybiha: We know there is a mismatch between Putin's words and actions
Kyiv, April 19 (Hibya) – Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha made statements following Russian President Vladimir Putin's announcement of an Easter ceasefire.
Sybiha stated that Ukraine had unconditionally accepted the U.S. proposal for a full and temporary 30-day ceasefire at a meeting in Jeddah on March 11, while Russia rejected the offer and has continued its rejection for 39 days.
“We have a long history of mismatch between Putin’s words and actions,” said Sybiha, and added:
“We know his words cannot be trusted, and we will look at actions, not words. Russia can accept the full and unconditional 30-day ceasefire proposal, which has been on the table since March, at any time. We want to see Russian forces truly cease fire on all fronts. We also call on all our partners and the international community to stay alert. Only actions show the truth, not words: This war started and continues solely because of Russia.”
