Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukrainian forces had captured two Chinese citizens who were fighting in the ranks of the Russian army.

Zelensky noted that, based on the information they obtained, there are more Chinese nationals in the Russian units than just these two, and made the following statement:

“I instructed the Ukrainian Foreign Minister to immediately contact Beijing and clarify how China intends to respond to this situation. Russia involving China and other countries in this war in Europe, directly or indirectly, is a clear sign that Putin plans to continue the war rather than end it. He is looking for ways to keep fighting. This absolutely requires a response.”
