Spanish police uncover illegal underground shooting range
Madrid, April 17 (Hibya) - Spanish police uncovered an illegal underground shooting range during a raid at a house in the southern province of Granada.
The range, located three stories underground, is suspected to have been operated by a weapons smuggling network for testing assault rifles and other firearms supplied to drug cartels.
Police stated that neighbors did not hear gunshots due to the depth of the range.
During raids on 11 houses in Loja, Moraleda de Zafayona, and the city of Granada, three individuals with criminal records were arrested on charges of illegal possession of firearms, storing war weapons, and crimes against public health.
The raids resulted in the seizure of three assault rifles, one machine gun, six pistols, a semi-automatic hunting rifle, large quantities of ammunition, over €60,000 in cash, and two cannabis greenhouses.
