Szijjarto: Maintaining the operation of TurkStream is a shared interest of Hungary and Turkey
Budapest, October 15 (Hibya) – Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto stated that energy issues are neither political nor ideological, emphasizing that keeping the TurkStream gas pipeline operational is a common interest for both Hungary and Turkey.
Following his meeting with Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, Szijjarto wrote on social media: “Energy is neither a political nor an ideological matter. We agreed that maintaining the functionality of TurkStream is in the shared interest of Hungary and Turkey.”
The Hungarian minister recalled that both countries are NATO members, adding: “Cutting off a reliable and affordable source of energy is not rational – it is dangerous.”
