Macron: Peace is built on justice and dignity
Paris, September 1 (Hibya) - French President Emmanuel Macron said that peace does not arise from ruins but is built on justice and dignity.
French President Macron stated that ahead of the Two-State Solution Conference to be held on September 22 in New York, they are in close coordination with Jordan’s King Abdullah II.
He emphasized that they firmly reiterated their opposition to any plan involving the forced displacement of the population or placing Gaza under trusteeship, stressing that such a proposal, contrary to international law, would only lead to a complete deadlock.
Macron also underlined once again that Israel’s ground offensive in Gaza is unacceptable and that this hasty approach could only result in endless conflict.
Highlighting that peace does not arise from ruins but is built on justice and dignity, Macron said:
“Our priorities are clear and remain unchanged: a lasting ceasefire, the release of all hostages, the delivery of large-scale humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza, and the definition of a lasting political solution that includes the disarmament of Hamas and the stabilization of the Gaza Strip.”
Macron added: “In preparation for September 22, together with the King of Jordan and all our partners, we are working to define a credible and hopeful perspective for the entire region, one that can respond to the legitimate aspirations of Israelis and Palestinians. Two peoples, two states: this is the only path to a peaceful future.”
