WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, in his statement on the hunger crisis in Gaza, emphasized that the situation is a “man-made disaster” unfolding before the eyes of the global public.

“We saw this disaster coming, we issued warnings, but we were not allowed to stop it,” Ghebreyesus said, criticizing the inaction of the international community.

Highlighting that the loss of lives in Gaza is the result of a “deliberate starvation policy,” Ghebreyesus addressed world leaders, asking, “Where is humanity?”

In his statement, he called for an immediate ceasefire and the removal of barriers to humanitarian aid, adding: “End the blockade! Ceasefire today!”
