Estonia imposes sanctions on two individuals serving Putin’s regime
Tallinn, October 15 (Hibya) – Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna announced that Estonia has decided to impose sanctions on individuals involved in the repression of freedom defenders in Russia.
In a statement on social media, Tsahkna said that Estonia has sanctioned Lyudmila Balandina and Dmitry Gordeev, who are held responsible for legal pressure against Maria Smorzhevskihh-Smirnova, the director of a museum in the city of Narva.
“Those who persecute defenders of freedom and serve Putin’s repressive regime will face the consequences. Freedom cannot be silenced,” Tsahkna said, emphasizing Estonia’s commitment to defending freedom of expression and human rights.
