Araghchi travels to Italy for Iran-US indirect talks
Rome, April 19 (Hibya) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyid Abbas Araghchi has traveled to Italy for indirect talks between Iran and the United States.
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyid Abbas Araghchi went to the Italian capital, Rome, to attend the second round of indirect talks with the United States.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baghaei told reporters at Tehran’s Mehrabad Airport: “The second round of indirect talks between Iran and the US will be held on Saturday in Rome, headed by Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyid Abbas Araghchi and US Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Wittkof.”
Baghaei continued:
“The framework of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s position and demands regarding the lifting of illegal sanctions and the nuclear issue is completely clear, and this framework was clearly conveyed to the other side during the first round of talks. However, considering the contradictory statements from various US officials in recent days, we expect the American side to first clarify its position and remove serious uncertainties about its intentions and seriousness.”
