American Airlines plane catches fire in Denver, USA
Denver, March 14 (Hibya) - According to Fox News, an American Airlines passenger plane caught fire on Thursday evening at Denver International Airport.
An airport spokesperson told the TV channel that the fire started around 18:00 local time. Passengers were evacuated through the aircraft wing. The spokesperson confirmed that no one was injured.
Meanwhile, ABC News, citing the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), reported that the Boeing 737-800 was diverted to Denver after the crew reported engine vibrations while flying from Colorado Springs to Dallas.
The engine caught fire while the plane was taxiing toward the apron.
All passengers managed to leave the plane, with only minor injuries reported during the evacuation.
The aircraft had 172 passengers and six crew members on board.
The airline stated: "We appreciate our crew, rescue teams, and emergency services for their swift and decisive actions in ensuring the safety of everyone on board and on the ground."
The cause of the incident is under investigation.
