Tesla warns US government about "negative effects" of retaliatory tariffs
Washington, March 14 (Hibya) - Elon Musk's Tesla has warned that Donald Trump's trade war could lead to retaliatory tariffs that would affect not only electric vehicle manufacturers but also other automakers in the United States.
In an unsigned letter to US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, Tesla stated that it "supports fair trade," but that the US administration must ensure it "does not inadvertently harm American companies."
"As an American manufacturer and exporter, Tesla encourages the US Trade Representative's Office (USTR) to consider the potential negative effects of proposed measures against unfair trade practices," the letter reads.
