President Zelensky stated that Ukraine, in cooperation with Sweden, will significantly increase the number of combat aircraft, saying: “This is an ambitious task and it must be accomplished. A historic step has now been taken: an agreement with Sweden on Gripen fighter jets, and it is a good choice. We expect 150 of these aircraft for Ukraine, with the first ones expected to be delivered next year.”

Zelensky emphasized that these understandings are part of Ukraine’s security guarantees, adding: “Ukraine has never before signed a combat aviation agreement of this scale. This is a historic achievement, and we are working to fully realize it.”
