WHO Director-General Ghebreyesus: The ceasefire in Gaza is fragile but continues
Geneva, October 24 (Hibya) — World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus made a statement on social media assessing the ceasefire process in Gaza.
Ghebreyesus said that although the ceasefire remains fragile, it continues: “We welcome the return of hostages, the release of detainees, the cessation of violence, and the increase in humanitarian aid.”
However, he cautioned that the crisis is not yet over, saying: “The needs are immense and the humanitarian situation is extremely serious.”
The WHO Director-General also announced that the organization will soon provide updates on its efforts to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
