Schoof emphasized that Ukraine needs ongoing support, noting that Russia rejects ceasefires, blocks diplomatic efforts, and continues its attacks on Ukraine, including this week.

He highlighted the importance of today’s meeting in London with the “Coalition of the Willing” to coordinate further steps, saying: “It would be good if the EU adopted the sanctions imposed by the US and the UK against Russia’s oil industry, as this would deal a heavy blow to Putin’s wallet.”

“It is vital that all countries support Ukraine. Only then can we provide high-level assistance and help keep Ukraine standing militarily and economically. It is also important that we share the burdens and risks as much as possible,” Schoof said.

He added: “An agreement was reached to increase efforts against Russian ships illegally operating in our waters. The Netherlands will work in this direction in consultation with international partners in the North Sea.”
