Ukrainian Foreign Minister Sybiha marks United Nations Day
Kyiv, October 24 (Hibya) – Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha issued a message on the occasion of United Nations Day.
Minister Sybiha said that they celebrate UN Day, marking the 80th anniversary of the entry into force of the UN Charter.
He noted that Ukraine is proud to have been one of the founding members that coordinated the drafting of the preamble, goals, and principles of the UN Charter. Sybiha added that Ukraine continues to defend the UN through diplomatic means and international forums, calling for accountability and respect for international law.
He emphasized that Ukraine, defending its sovereignty and independence, also upholds the UN Charter, stating:
“At a time when Russia has launched the most destructive war in Europe since World War II, every act of resistance against aggression reaffirms the right of nations to live freely and in peace. The UN remains a vital platform for global peace, security, and cooperation. We must protect its Charter not only from aggressors but also from indifference.”
