UNRWA: There is an urgent need for more shelter materials
New York, 17 November (Hibya) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) announced in a statement regarding the situation in Gaza that more shelter materials are urgently needed.
According to the statement from UNRWA, hundreds of thousands of displaced people in Gaza are entering their third winter unprotected and deprived of basic necessities.
The statement noted that many people are living in old and worn-out tents, and added:
“Fragile shelters easily let water in; people’s belongings get soaked, leaving families entirely vulnerable to the cold. There is an urgent need for more shelter materials. UNRWA has these materials. Let us bring them in.”
