Trump calls on Republicans to vote for the release of Epstein files
Washington, November 17 (Hibya) – U.S. President Donald Trump has urged his Republican colleagues in Congress to vote for the release of files related to Jeffrey Epstein, who died in prison, marking a sudden reversal of his earlier stance.
The President’s post on Truth Social came after House Speaker Mike Johnson said that a vote to release Department of Justice documents in the Epstein case would help dispel claims that “Trump had something to do with it.”
Late on Sunday, Trump wrote on the social media platform: “House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files because we have nothing to hide.
“And it’s time to get rid of this Democrat Hoax invented by Radical Left Lunatics to distract from the Republican Party’s Great Success.”
The White House is struggling to quell suspicions among Trump's loyal MAGA base that the administration is hiding details of Epstein’s crimes to protect wealthy elites connected to him, including Trump himself.
Despite Republicans continuously releasing files this year — including more than 20,000 pages published last week — pressure has grown to release more information, such as FBI investigation documents and materials tied to Epstein’s estate.
