UNRWA: People fainting from hunger in Gaza, aid access must be allowed
New York, July 22 (Hibya) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has highlighted the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza.
In a statement shared on social media, the agency reported that civilians and UNRWA staff are fainting due to severe hunger in the region.
UNRWA stated that people in Gaza are being starved, while markets just a few kilometers away are full of food and other essential supplies.
The agency called for the blockade on Gaza to be lifted and demanded that humanitarian convoys carrying food and medicine be granted access.
