Ukrainian President Zelensky Meets Polish Foreign Minister Sikorski
Kyiv, September 12 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski during the annual Yalta European Strategy (YES) meeting.
President Zelensky and Radoslaw Sikorski discussed Russia’s drone attack on Poland on the night of September 10. The President stressed that Ukraine is ready to counter Russian drones, establish a defense system, and train the Polish army.
The talks also covered the importance of increasing pressure on Russia, joint defense production, and the implementation of bilateral defense agreements.
The parties discussed the production of preventive drones under the EU’s SAFE defense initiative.
Zelensky highlighted the special importance of Ukraine’s EU membership, noting that the opening of the first negotiation cluster, where Ukraine and Moldova have 27 votes combined, is extremely important.
