Tsahkna: Hybrid and cyber attacks violate international law
Tallinn, July 18 (Hibya) – Estonia's Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna said that Russia's hybrid and cyber attacks against the United Kingdom violate the foundations of international law.
Estonia's Foreign Minister Tsahkna stated that Russia's hybrid and cyber attacks against the United Kingdom violate the foundations of international law.
Emphasizing that each accusation carries a message, Tsahkna said, "Cyberspace is governed by law, and all states must respect its boundaries. Estonia stands in unshakable solidarity with the United Kingdom against these malicious acts."
Tsahkna noted that Russia has repeatedly violated the cyberspace of Estonia, the United Kingdom, and other allies, exploiting digital vulnerabilities to sow division among Ukraine's supporters and to continue its brutal war in Ukraine.
However, Tsahkna emphasized that cyberspace is not lawless:
"It is governed by clear and binding rules, and every violation has consequences. While our NATO allies continue to stand firmly united against Russia's malicious cyber operations, we are also strengthening our defenses against future threats. Malicious acts will never break our unity."
