German Chancellor Merz spoke with Israeli counterpart by phone
Berlin, July 18 (Hibya) - German Chancellor Friedrich Merz held a phone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
German Chancellor Merz said they are striving to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and provide comprehensive humanitarian aid to the region’s population.
He noted that he regularly meets personally with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu on this matter and today spoke with him by phone.
Merz stated that the operation to return people to Afghanistan is being conducted in close cooperation with the State of Qatar, which acts as a facilitator, and said, "Qatar is a reliable and strategic partner in these efforts and in the region in general."
