Qatar renews its commitment to the UN Charter
New York, October 25 (Hibya) – Qatar’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani, emphasized her country’s commitment to multilateralism during her speech at the UN Security Council.
The State of Qatar reaffirmed its commitment to the Charter of the United Nations. Speaking at the UN Security Council’s open debate titled “The United Nations: A Look to the Future,” Al-Thani reiterated her country’s support for international cooperation and UN reform efforts.
In her statement, Al-Thani said: “The State of Qatar remains firmly committed to the Charter of the United Nations and will continue to support efforts to maintain international peace and security.”
Highlighting the importance of multilateral cooperation in addressing global challenges, she added: “Over the past 80 years, the United Nations has played a vital role in preventing international conflicts and promoting peaceful solutions.”
Al-Thani also stated that Qatar supports the UN reform process: “We support efforts to enhance the effectiveness of the United Nations and its ability to respond to global crises.”
