President Erdoğan spoke with Ukrainian President Zelensky
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
President Erdoğan held the phone conversation with President Zelensky at the request of the Ukrainian side.
The discussion addressed bilateral relations between Türkiye and Ukraine, as well as regional and global issues.
Erdoğan stated that they valued the progress achieved in the direct negotiations between Ukraine and Russia in Istanbul, and expressed his hope that the next rounds would yield meaningful results regarding a ceasefire on the path to lasting peace.
He emphasized that Türkiye is ready to host a leaders’ summit and believes that establishing working groups in the military, humanitarian, and political fields will pave the way for the summit.
President Erdoğan stressed that Türkiye will continue to support Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
