Noem said that the officers were attacked and encircled by ten vehicles, noting that one of the attackers was carrying a semi-automatic weapon.

She stated that more special operations units were deployed to control the situation, adding: “Reinforcements are on the way. If you see a law enforcement officer today, thank them.”

Noem said: “The brave men and women of our law enforcement are being targeted and attacked by violent anarchists who want to destroy America.”

She added: “I want every law enforcement officer to know that President Donald Trump and I stand with them. Stand with ICE as they continue their mission to protect and defend our country.”
