Message of cooperation in energy and technology between Montenegro and the UAE
Podgorica, August 23 (Hibya) – Montenegro’s Prime Minister Milojko Spajić thanked the UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for the firefighting plane allocated to Montenegro during the fire season.
Spajić emphasized that this solidarity marks the beginning of a period in which the relations between the two countries will be further strengthened through concrete projects.
Sheikh Al Nahyan expressed readiness to provide both expertise and financial support to the Montenegrin Electric Company (EPCG) for the development of energy projects. He stated that with this support, Montenegrin citizens would continue to have access to affordable electricity, while competitiveness in energy prices would encourage investments in data centers, financial technologies (fintech), and artificial intelligence.
“Instead of exporting electricity as a raw material, it is more valuable to export more complex products and services derived from this energy,” said Al Nahyan, stressing that the energy infrastructure would attract modern technology investments to the country.
Prime Minister Spajić added that the development of data center infrastructure would make Montenegro an attractive destination for major technology companies.
