Meloni Meets Erdoğan on the Sidelines of the G20
Johannesburg, 23 November (Hibya) – Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during the G20 proceedings, discussing NATO cooperation, the war in Ukraine, and developments in the Middle East. Both leaders agreed on strengthening bilateral relations.
Italian Council of Ministers President Meloni held a bilateral meeting with President Erdoğan during the G20 summit in South Africa. The importance of Italy–Türkiye cooperation within NATO was emphasized, and current international crises—particularly the war in Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East—were examined in detail.
Meloni and Erdoğan expressed a shared view on further strengthening relations between the two countries and supporting economic growth in strategic sectors. The meeting took place in a positive and constructive atmosphere.
