Lazzarini: Media entry ban must be lifted
New York, July 18 (Hibya) – Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), stated regarding Gaza that the international media entry ban must be lifted.
UNRWA Commissioner-General Lazzarini emphasized the need to lift the ban on international media entering the country.
He noted that there has been 650 days of oppression against civilians in areas where the media is not allowed to enter, and stated:
"Over 200 Palestinian journalists have been killed. The media ban fuels disinformation campaigns that cast doubt on first-hand accounts and data from eyewitnesses and international humanitarian organizations."
