Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ismail Baghaei said that the US attacks on fishing boats off the coast of Venezuela, along with its increasing military activities that include explicit threats of force and military intervention, constitute a clear violation of the fundamental principles and purposes of the UN Charter, particularly the principle prohibiting the use of force or the threat of force in interstate relations.

While condemning the US’s unlawful and provocative actions, the spokesman also emphasized the United Nations Security Council’s responsibility to prevent any acts that threaten international peace and security.
