IDF: Drone launched from Yemen intercepted in Eilat area
Jerusalem, December 12 (Hibya) – The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that a drone launched from Yemen and apparently heading towards Israeli territory was intercepted in the Eilat area.
The IDF stated that alarms were activated in the Netivot area west of Lachish and around Gaza in the last hour, with the possibility of a false alarm being investigated.
The statement noted that the alerts were activated in line with policy, considering the predicted route and with the aim of ensuring citizens' safety. "No reports of damage or casualties have been received so far, and the incident has ended," the statement read.
It was also reported that the drone launched from Yemen, intercepted in the Eilat area, did not cross into Israeli territory.
