Geneva, December 12 (Hibya) – WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated that the recent attacks in Kabkabiya, North Darfur, which resulted in at least 80 deaths and hundreds of injuries, are shocking.
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said: "The recent attacks in Kabkabiya, North Darfur, which resulted in at least 80 deaths and hundreds of injuries, are shocking. We extend our condolences to the affected communities in Sudan."
Ghebreyesus noted that health facilities in Darfur are struggling to meet medical needs due to non-functional equipment and limited medical supplies. "WHO took a step earlier this month by sending trauma and surgical supplies, which could help treat the injured and prevent further loss of life," he said.
