Flood risk persists in the UK after Storm Claudia
London, 17 November (Hibya) – It has been reported that despite reduced weather warnings, flood risk in the UK continues after Storm Claudia, with river flooding still having an impact.
The Environment Agency (EA) in the UK warned that despite improving weather conditions, the effects of river flooding may continue.
Weather warnings for rain and wind issued by the Met Office have now ended, and calmer weather is expected today. However, the recent heavy rainfall associated with Storm Claudia caused widespread disruption, and flood risk remains in some parts of the UK.
Along the River Ouse, minor flooding effects are possible until today, and along the River Severn, flood expectations remain in place until Thursday. As of 12:00 on Monday, there were 16 flood warnings and 40 flood alerts in effect.
The Environment Agency announced that 57 properties have been flooded so far due to the storm.
