EU Commissioner Lahbib: Equality cannot wait
Brussels, 17 November (Hibya) – European Union Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management, Hadja Lahbib, stated that women in the EU earn 12 percent less per hour than men doing the same job.
Commissioner Lahbib noted that women in the EU still earn 12 percent less per hour for the same work, adding that Equal Pay Day highlights how women “work for free” for the rest of the year.
She stated that Women’s Rights Roadmaps show the path toward equal pay and economic independence for every woman, stressing that equality cannot wait.
