China's Spring Festival celebrations box office revenue surpassed 2 billion yuan
During the Spring Festival holiday that began on Saturday, China's box office revenue, according to data from box office tracker Lighthouse, surpassed 2 billion yuan (approximately 280 million U.S. dollars).
Local comedy-drama films like "Pegasus 2" and "YOLO," along with the latest installment of the popular Chinese animation film series "Boonie Bears: Time Twist," stood out in the box office rankings.
The live performance market also saw significant attention on some days during the Spring Festival holiday.
According to statistics released by the China Performance Industry Association, there are over 2,200 theater works available on major ticketing platforms in February, and more than 8,500 shows have been planned. This represents a significant increase compared to the previous Spring Festival season.
