Zelensky: Coordination with Spain for a common stance in Europe continues
Kyiv, August 9 (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a phone conversation with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.
During the call, Zelensky thanked Spain for its support to Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, and provided information about the current diplomatic developments and contacts with partners.
Zelensky said, “The most important issue right now is to take a clear stance so that Russia can no longer impose its unrealistic conditions on anyone.”
The Ukrainian leader emphasized that he and Pedro Sanchez share the view that Europe’s voice must be heard on international platforms. The two leaders stressed their determination to work together to coordinate a common European stance and to achieve a just peace as quickly and constructively as possible.
The conversation also touched on Ukraine’s EU membership process. Zelensky stated that Ukraine has fulfilled all its obligations and is ready to open the first negotiation chapters. The parties agreed to stay in contact to consider possible options in this process.
