Yermak: Under the Bring Kids Back initiative, a group of children has been returned to our land
Kyiv, September 2 (Hibya) – The Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, announced that under the Bring Kids Back initiative, another group of Ukrainian children and youth aged 3 to 18 had been returned from the temporarily occupied territories and from the territory of the Russian Federation.
Yermak recalled that the Bring Kids Back initiative was established by President Volodymyr Zelensky to return every Ukrainian child abducted by Russia, and that under this initiative another group of children and youth had been brought back from the occupied territories and from Russia.
He stressed that the children and youth had lived for years under pressure and fear: "The occupiers forced them to attend Russian schools, threatened them, and humiliated their families. Among the rescued is a mother whose two sons were deported to Russia and stripped of their Ukrainian documents. The family was deprived of basic living conditions – money, clothing, or food. Twice they tried to return home on their own, and only on the third attempt, with the help of the initiative's partners, did they succeed in escaping."
Yermak added that among those returned was also a child with disabilities who had been forced for years to live in occupied territories without proper treatment or access to essential medicine: "Today this child is finally safe, with his mother and under the care of Ukrainian doctors. We will continue doing everything possible to return every Ukrainian child to their home."
