Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

According to CCTV, the Trump administration has expanded sanctions targeting Iran’s oil trade and maritime networks.

Within this framework, a new general license related to Iran was issued, and the Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons (SDN) list was updated with the addition of entities linked to Iran’s oil sector and oil tankers.

Iran General License T, issued by the US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), allows “limited safety and environmental transactions” and the unloading of cargoes in connection with certain persons or vessels blocked on January 23, 2026.

Meanwhile, OFAC updated the SDN list by adding numerous shipping companies allegedly linked to Iran and nine oil tankers. This move is expected to effectively freeze their assets in the United States and prohibit US persons from engaging in transactions with them.

In a press release, the US Treasury Department stated: “OFAC is targeting nine ‘shadow fleet’ vessels and their owners or operators that transported hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of Iranian oil and petroleum products to foreign markets.”

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on platform X: “As previously stated, the Treasury Department will continue to track the tens of millions of dollars that the regime has stolen and is attempting to transfer to banks outside Iran.”

This step followed a series of US sanctions and other measures adopted earlier this month.
