Iran reacts to European Parliament decision
Tehran, 23 January (Hibya) – Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reacted to the decision adopted by the European Parliament concerning the country.
In a statement, the ministry said the resolution adopted by the European Parliament regarding recent developments in Iran contains “unfounded” allegations and includes “interventionist” and “irresponsible” recommendations against the Islamic Republic of Iran, strongly condemning the decision.
The statement added: “The European Parliament and its officials’ approving silence toward the genocide in occupied Palestine, while ignoring crimes committed on the streets of Iran, are two sides of the same mindset.”
It emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran remains committed to the fundamental rights of the Iranian people within the framework of its Constitution and international legal obligations, and considers it its duty to protect citizens’ security, public order and national sovereignty against all acts of terrorism, external threats and interference.
