UN Central Emergency Response Fund allocates additional budget to Chad
New York, May 23 (Hibya) – UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher announced that an additional $2.5 million has been allocated to Chad from the Central Emergency Response Fund.
Fletcher stated that the allocation comes in response to the recent mass displacement from Sudan to Chad.
He emphasized that this funding will help deliver life-saving assistance to refugees fleeing violence and to returnees, most of whom are women and children.
